On behalf of the membership of Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church, thank you for logging onto our church web-site. Our web-site is a “work-in-progress,” so expect future changes and updates regularly – and please visit us often. It is our desire that, as you visit with us, you will discover lasting encouragement as well as helpful information. I have heard it said that the church must “constantly share the unchanging love of God with an ever-changing world.” Along with the rapid rate of increased knowledge and advanced technology comes the necessity for improved ways to share the good news of God’s love with all who will accept it. Our church is committed to thinking “out-of-the-box” and to developing methods of communication that will be current and appropriate to every guest. We strongly promote four primary forces which shape who we are and who we become in Christ: Scripture (which is paramount), reason, tradition, and experience – a concept known as the “Wesleyan Quadrilateral.” We believe that concept to be a mandate for us to become more like Christ everyday. The proof of that effort is realized as we “love our neighbor as ourselves.” |

| The mission of Sharp Memorial UMC is: To present Christ, to develop disciples, and to care for each other and the world. Our focus is to: witness, teach, and serve. We are a United Methodist Church congregation that offers an inviting atmosphere of worship and a challenge of service. Our home is in the Gainesville District of the North Georgia Conference. Our church location is nestled in the beautiful mountains of Young Harris, Georgia. Lakes Chatuge and Nottely are nearby – providing an incredibly beautiful view of God’s nature. Our church facility is located on the campus of Young Harris College, a four-year liberal arts institution that is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
