Sharp Vacation Bible School 2010: A New Take on Noah, “Understanding and Caring for our World” From the Director of Christian Education: First of all, I want to thank everyone who helped with, participated in, prayed for, and otherwise supported our Vacation Bible School this year. We could never have done it without you! We had a spectacular week learning all about Noah’s Ark. We had about 30 children and 30 adults each day, and I think everyone who participated had a great time! Our Adult group began each day with a lesson on the flood narrative and cross-cultural myths, and then took field trips to learn about the missions of other organizations in our area. Our children and youth spent their days learning about Noah and the environment, making crafts, playing games, eating delicious snacks like “mud” cupcakes and, of course, rehearsing for the Musical, “100% Chance of Rain”! |

On Sunday, the musical couldn’t have been better. It was truly a blessing to see all the children and adults performing with each other, and having a great time doing it. Our amazing Music Director, Pam Leslie, pulled it all together with only a week to rehearse and teach everyone the songs! Following the musical, our Youth sponsored Picnic Lunch and Art Auction was a huge success. We were able to fund our entire retreat and we were able to enjoy some great art in the process. I want to thank everyone who donated to our Auction, and a special thank you to Peggy Gregg and Marsha Elliott for helping the youth to put the lunch together. What a wonderful church family we have, and I feel so blessed to be a part of it! VBS is all about coming together as a family and learning about the faith we all share, and I think this year was huge success! Thank You, |
