The Stephen Ministry has trained, caring, knowledgeable lay individuals to provide, under the direction of your pastor, one-on-one, confidential caring to persons in need here at Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church and throughout the North Georgia community. This ministry is named after Stephen, who was called upon by the Apostles to care for the needs of the people. Stephen Ministers are commissioned to give continuing care to help ease life’s burdens, and to assist with coping during times of crisis. This caring relationship focuses on the many needs of care receivers and lasts as long as the need exists. Stephen Ministers receive ongoing support, guidance and continuing education to help them provide the best possible confidential care to their care receiver, while maintaining the bond of trust of this caring relationship. |
